Ultimate Margarita Recipe

Ultimate Margarita Recipe

It’s taken me a full year of sampling, testing and mixing, but I finally have it, the Ultimate Margarita Recipe.

I will be seeing in 2020 with a couple of glasses of fizz and a few Margaritas. New Years Eve will be a low key night with homemade pies, festive sides, music and a self serve Margarita bar. Along with the required spirits, an array of fruit will be on offer. My Ultimate Margarita Recipe makes a great classic margarita and can easily be adapted to make fruitier versions, passion fruit, pineapple and grapefruit are in my top 5 margaritas.

A new entry into my top five is a Bramble Margarita. The inspiration came from a bottle of Bramble Gin Liquor that I purchased from Chatsworth Christmas Market this year. It’s divine served simply over ice and I knew it would be pretty special in a cocktail. I wanted a new cocktail to serve on New Years Eve and that’s when the Bramble Margarita idea hit me. My Bramble Margarita is refreshingly zesty, with a hint of berries and punch of alcohol.

I came across a few dud cocktails on my mission to find The Ultimate Margarita Recipe. The most common crimes against a margarita are premixes and batches. Margarita mixing is an art that can’t be rushed, each one should be individually made to ensure pure perfection.

Whatever your preference, classic, fruity or bramble, make sure you raise a Margarita to 2020.

For a fruitier margarita reduce the Triple Sec to 15 ml and add 15 ml of freshly squeezed fruit juice. Passion fruit, pineapple and grapefruit are three of my favourite flavours.

Don’t buy Simple Syrup, make your own. It’s quick, easy and a lot cheaper. You can also play around with flavours using fruit and herbs. From experimenting in The Delectable Garden I came across a delicious Rosemary Simple Syrup.

The Bramble Gin Liquor I used is from Morrison and MacKay. Keep an eye out for them at the next Christmas market or country fair you visit.

The Delectable Garden Cocktails contain alcohol so are only suitable for 18+ years, please drink responsibly.

Thank you to all who have tried my recipes, shared my posts and have sent your wonderful comments. It’s been another fantastic year at The Delectable Garden and I look forward to what 2020 brings.

Please share the love on social media using the links below.

Have a wonderful New Year.
